QUIET CHAOS
Official Film Festival Selection Berlin - London - Tribeca - Sydney
Shining light of European cinema, Nanni Moretti (The Son's Room, Dear Diary) brings his trademark intelligence and wit to his starring role in the subtle and gentle film, QUIET CHAOS.
Nominated for an unprecedented 18 David Di Donatello Awards (every category in which it was eligible) and a number one hit in Italy, QUIET CHAOS is a rare film that has struck a true chord with the heart of Italy.
"The hottest film in Italy right now, in just about every sense of the word "hot," is Caos Calmo or Quiet Chaos" Newsweek
Having in one momentous Summer's day rescued a woman from drowning and simultaneously lost his wife, Pietro's (Nanni Moretti) life is changed in a moment.
One morning soon after this day, he drops his adorable young daughter at school and spontaneously tells her he will wait outside until she returns. He sits in his car, wonders in the park and has coffee at a nearby cafe. And so he does, surprisingly to all, day after day.
Pietro's friends, family and colleagues come to visit him in the park, only to have their own dramas melt away in the face of Pietro's invincible calm.
Set against the changing of the seasons in Rome, QUIET CHAOS is interwoven with great charm and wry comedy and embellished by the award winning soundtrack featuring Rufus Wainwright, Radiohead and original composition.
Based on the eponymous novel by Sandro Veronesi, which was the recipient of Italy's highest literary award, The Strega Prize and directed by Antonello Grimaldi.
In cinemas May 21
